2021-22 Training Camp

RP has an opportunity he never did , a legit roster spot is his to lose
Absolutely correct. This is why Bergevin didn't do more. They're expecting Poehling to step up. If he fails to do so this year I think he's gone in a trade.

If Poehling can't crack this weak-ass center corps then he never will. It's not like he has to beat out Jacques Lemaire, Pierre Mondou, Pete Mahovlich, Doug Jarvis and Doug Risebrough for a job. He merely has to be a better option than Cedric Paquette.

Injury update from Day 1 at camp:

BROSSARD -- Several players won't be participating in Thursday's practice sessions at the Bell Sports Complex.

Five players failed their respective training camp medicals due to injury, including forwards Paul Byron (hip), Mike Hoffman (lower-body) and Joel Teasdale (knee), defenseman Josh Brook (knee), and goaltender Carey Price (knee).

All are most likely out for the remainder of camp.

Meanwhile, defenseman Joel Edmundson is listed as day-to-day.

Right-winger Brendan Gallagher is absent for family reasons. He is expected to report to camp in the coming days.
