Psychotic stuff. Only the NHL would leave the door open for an owner that incompetent. Well, I say that. Meruelo would fit right in in the second or third tier of English football with the other numpties and charlatans.

I left out that I meant this year ... but that's my sense, that this has been a post pandemic trend.

Depending on the county and the type of product, sales tax can be as high as 13% in Florida, but the general average for consumer goods is around 10%. The government gonna get that money, regardless of what they call it. Sales tax, property tax, service fees, registration fees ... all that stuff is adjusted up in States with no income tax.

It wouldn't shock me if that was part to get it done as this current saga had to end.. I feel bad for the 'yotes fans..
and I expect the NHL to allow him to bid... but I also expect that it'll be an uphill climb.. (Depends on the contract..)

There is no way they should let that guy near another team. I think Bettman said that to placate the fans. But the guy is a phony, barely better than Boots del Biaggio and John Spano.

Speculation runs towards that "commitment" being made to avoid potential litigation. That's the only way it makes sense, from where I sit
