2024 NHL Draft

Not having kept up with the oncoming draft, I know next to nothing about any of these young men. But looking at the list I don't think I've ever seen a better group of HOCKEY NAMES!

At The Athletic, Corey Pronman gave the Canes draft a B, summarizing it as “trades and Russians”. Scott Wheeler said the Canes were OT winners for “Teams I believe did well with where they were slotted, even if they might not have picked the exact player(s) I would have.” He thought about putting the Canes in the Winners category.

The consensus seems to boil down to A/B grades. Fine. It was a typical Canes draft ... lots of perceived value, some big bets on offensive upside and an easy to find emphasis with not a ton of sure things. They did what they do.
