2024 Playoff Predictions?

Who's feeling brave? Because I'm not. I've got zero feel for this year's brackets.

Let's stick with the first round for now.

New York Rangers vs. Washington Capitals
I'm figuring the Rangers walk this one without too much trouble. No sweep, but no real bother either.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Islanders
A bit more of a slog, but the Canes should get this done in 5 or 6

Boston Bruins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Terrible matchup for a first round. Boston's got the goaltending so I'll take them to win this one.

Florida Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
Speaking of terrible first rounds ... I'm thinking Tampa gets this one done, mostly because the Panthers have been an immature mess this season and could easily devolve into the nonsense we saw from them pre-Mo. Nasty series though.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Colorado Avalanche
Honestly. This year's first round is stupid. I dunno. My gut says Jets, but my head says Avs. Pick 'em.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Nashville Predators
I don't trust either of these teams, but I figure the special teams lean Canucks so let's go with that.

Edmonton Oilers vs. LA Kings
Oilers take this one unless LA is able to turn center ice into a mosh pit.

Dallas Stars vs. Vegas Golden Knights
Stars in 7 ... probably. I dunno.

I'm rooting for the TV goons to get screwed BTW ... especially in the West where they've been so quick to rally behind teams like Vegas and Colorado that didn't earn it in the regular season. Go small markets and teams that actually put in the work.
