2025-26 Canes Miscellaneous Thread

Well, they gotta talk about something. And tailgating, watch parties, Staal, the Stanky line and us rehabbing defensemen left right and center have all gotten old. Vegas is gonna be stuck talking about Torts’ stupid thing with the suitcase for a while win or lose this weekend. Which is why he said it … to take the heat off of questions about his own goalie and what they’re going to do to replace Karlsson.
 
Hoping that Torts has to eat his words and his clothes need to be shipped to Vegas or wherever. I have every idea that he's not got Raleigh on his vacation hot spots map if things don't go their way. Maybe he just needs some new threads?

My theory - the NHL took over ice prep at all playoff locations a couple of years ago to ensure that the ice also sucks during the early rounds. That way the fans and players get acclimated to bad ice early and complain less when it sucks during the Finals. There are so many whiffed passes in the first round these days, and the buildings are a good 5-10 degrees warmer than in the regular season. That ain’t because it’s hot outside.

That was a great article! For most of us in here that follow this team game in and game out, a Cup win is going to be extra special for the long timers like Svech, Aho, Staal, Slavin, Martinook, etc…the guys that have been through all the highs and lows of this team and these playoff runs…that article exemplifies perseverance and how hard it is to win this damn Cup.
