2025-26 Canes Miscellaneous Thread

Yeah, nah … because of that old thing about if you don’t have anything nice to say about the dearly departed and all. Suffice to say that Steve Stroud had a long career in real estate development in central NC and many of you will have heard of him. That’s about all I’ve got.

The schedule is out

Open and close with Florida.

The next to last home game is Monday, April 5 at 2:00. The league has scheduled about 12 games this season with early afternoon starts to broadcast in prime time in Europe.

There are 4 home games before the State Fair roadie, which goes through Canada again. Winnipeg, Calgary (back to back), Vancouver, Edmonton from 10/17-22 and close in St. Louis in 10/24. That’s the longest road trip with 5 games. It looks like the longest home stand is 5 games at the beginning of December.

23 of the 41 home games are Friday-Sunday.

I count 12 back to backs? It looks like the only back to back with both games at home is 3/12-13 against Calgary and New Jersey. That leads into the California roadie with Anaheim, LA and San Jose from 3/16-20 and a stop in Dallas on the way home on 3/23.

There are 4 days off before and after Helsinki, home for Chicago on Saturday 11/7, play Seattle on 11/12 and 11/14, and the next game is home for Montreal on 11/19.

They have in the past. They will open up individual ticket sales for STMs in advance of the general public on sale. They still did that last season. What has majorly changed since maybe 4 seasons ago now is that STMs don't get the STM prices for any extras we buy. However, you do save a lot money not having to pay excessive TicketMaster fees.

I exchange my pre-season tickets value for extras prior to the general public on sale, that is also still a thing for full STMs.

Am I reading this correctly? There’s a random 2PM game on Monday the 5th of April? That’s not a holiday or anything. Easter is the week before and Easter Monday isn’t actually a thing anyway. What the hingie is that about?

One other thing on the schedule that was pointed out. The Canes begin and end the season playing 9 of 13 on the road. The start makes sense with the State Fair roadie. But after the Canes play a home back to back against the Flames and Devils on 3/12-13, they finish with 9 of 13 on the road. There is a home game against Dallas, which is the back end of a home and home, and a 3 game home stand at the beginning of April.

One more traffic nightmare to prep for.

The Canes host the Blackhawks at 8:00 on November 7. NC State hosts Duke that day at Carter Finley. Hopefully it’s a noon start and the delayed Canes game time could alleviate some issues. But if that game is any later?

It IS a Noon start for the State/Duke game, at least I’ve been told that it will be. There’s no official start times posted beyond their home game against App on Sept 19. But even with a Noon kickoff, good luck getting the parking lots emptied by 5, which is when they would normally open for hockey. God forbid the game goes to OT or it ends up being one of those games with a lot of passing attempts that ends up taking forever. Why the league does this crap is beyond me. I’m 100% sure that date was on Carolina’s “please don’t” list.

On top of the traffic nightmare every game will be with the extra 1000 seats filled and the outside construction that was supposed to start early-, then mid-, last year and cause the closing of the premier lots, unless that's postponed (again).

Yeah, my rep hasn’t given me an answer on premiere lots yet. I’ve got a bit of a conflict for the opener and it would be nice to know whether or not those premiere slots will exist for that game, because I’m gonna be coming in hot from the wrong direction.

Simple solution.

Go to both games. :giggle:

If we win both, I'll call that a happy 65th!
