2025-26 Canes Miscellaneous Thread

FWIW, the Canes only need a point from their remaining two games to grab the top seed in the East. Philly will still be alive on Monday, but NYI could be eliminated as early as this evening if they lose to Montreal.

Kochetkov went 40 minutes today against Rockford, stopping 18 of 19. The Wolves finish with 3 at home, Wednesday against Manitoba, Saturday and Sunday against Milwaukee. I own think he’ll be recalled before the end of the season, it wouldn’t surpass me if he played on Wednesday.

Anyone have a Boston/Ottawa preference? I think I'd rather see us play the Bruins. Although Ottawa is struggling with NJ tonight.

I feel like Ottawa was a tougher opponent this year than Boston. But it really doesn't matter.
Matchup-wise, Ottawa is a little more of a handful for the Canes because they have better balance up front but Boston is no picnic given the mere presence of Pasta and the potential impact of Swayman. He hasn’t been great down the stretch, but is capable of changing the tone of a series. Personally, I’d rather play Ottawa simply because they won’t have as many obnoxious fans in the building.

Either way, these are NHL teams so it’s a challenge any way you slice it.

My thoughts exactly on less meathead out of town fans in the building!!! There is also still a chance the Canes are the second seed in the East when the dust settles and they get the Bruins in a 2 vs 7 matchup!

In the bad old days, when Nortel had 10,000+ in RTP, Sens fans were plentiful in our building. But Nortel doesn't exist anymore and those that did come were most definitely not meatheads.

Yeah, I remember for the All Star game there were a bunch of Ottawa fans down here. They were all very nice people.

I remember the roving packs of young Sabres fans walking around the concourse looking for lone Canes fans.

Can we place wishlist tickets in the hopper for Game 1 start dates? Saturday is a steamy 90 degrees and Sunday mid 70’s are in the forecast…give me a Sunday series start please! Tailgating sounds much more enjoyable for Sunday afternoon!

If Ullmark is on his game the whole time, then yeah, it will be a difficult round to get out of.

If we have the same issue with Ullmark that we have had with Bob, we need a voodoo priestess to conjure up some gris-gris for the team.
