As much as I dislike Babcock (or his reputation), I hope he’s able to bring some structure to that team. Their management/front office is guilty of longstanding malpractice, yet have the best player in hockey.

Hiring Babcock just seems like punching McDavids ticket out of Edmonton. I don't see this ending well.

There are already too many teams. Maybe they will add a team to Butte Montana and Enid Oklahoma

And as for expansion, there’s been a slow swell for another team in each division, especially after how well the Utah move went. Atlanta (Gwinnett) and Texas … probably Houston … seem to be in play. This is the first I’ve heard of Austin being involved. And before you downplay Atlanta, you all know by now that the strength of the owner is more important than the market itself so long as the market is viable. Atlanta is viable but never had credible ownership before.
