2025-26 NHL Miscellaneous Thread

I know that the Canes announced the end of the Fan Tunnel due to the new seating setups.

I had thought those new seats would be permanent and those tunnels completely closed off, but from that picture it looks like they haven't done any work yet that would clearly show that to be the plan. I don't know how long it would take to actually close off those tunnels for permanent seating (probably not anywhere near as long as I think), but I would have expected to see some work on that started by now?

Where do the basketball teams come out?
NC State comes out the same tunnel the visiting NHL teams do and the visitors come out where the officials do. The visiting basketball locker room is close to the zamboni entrance and across from the NHL Officials locker room (new 113 section area)....unless it changed in the last 2 years

So if the 113 tunnel is closed, the visitors need a new entrance, unless they’re going to share the same tunnel as NC State.

Or come out the area where the zamboni is....they can 'make' a tunnel with the temp seats they put down with the basketball court....or with all the remodel they are moving the locker rooms to the other end

They’ll probably just fill in with the temp platforms like they use they use for the Zamboni entrance during basketball games. Removing those concrete bulkheads to close off those corner entrances entirely would be VERY expensive.

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe get some NC State Shit to rub off on all the hockey visitors!

This is from a GC's site super at a fit up I did at Union Station in 2020. You, of all people, should get a kick out of it.

I first saw that bumper sticker on a blasting contractor’s drilling rig.

For the record, nothing I did in 30 years of construction made me more nervous than blasting rock.

I can only think of one project since 1984 that we had any rock blasting for, which was condos back behind the old Neuse River mill. GC blasted and provided a bunch of ways for water to come up to the surface.
