2025-26 NHL Miscellaneous Thread

Interesting how many TV hockey "experts" picked the Bruins over the Sabres.
Boston has just enough quality and experience in the right spots to be a real threat to anyone, and Buffalo is leaning mostly on guys who haven’t really been there before. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I get it. Plus, you feel like you have to pick SOME upsets, right? I like Montreal’s chances against Tampa but they finished tied in the regular season so that’s a bit of a copout. And out West, you’re not exactly out on a limb in any of the matchups other than Colorado/LA. And nobody’s that brave and/or dumb.

On the TNT pregame before Kings-Avs, Gretzky picked Canes-Tampa in the ECF but didn’t pick a winner. He did pick Edmonton in the west bit said it wasn’t Edmonton bias.

I love how he says they need to “get Hartford on the right track” when I’m 90% sure that the big club doesn’t give a single thought to their AHL affiliate other than when it comes time to stash an under-performing vet that they can’t justify keeping on the NHL roster. It’s just not a build from the ground floor kind of franchise and it never really has been.

Colorado scores a goal but it's immediately waved off for goaltender interference by Jack Drury. Replay shows Doughty bumping Drury into the goalie so Colorado calls for a review. However, replays show that Drury is the one that initiated the contact so the call was not overturned and Colorado is assessed a penalty. The Kings then score 15 goals on that one minor penalty. Ok, that last part might be less than truthful.

My view of it is that, yes, Drury skated up into Doughty who had his back turned to the goal. Good call by the refs.

Oh yeah, Nic Roy is the one that served the penalty.
