It should be a good series. Montreal was the team I was most worried about (see regular season) and they will be riding a high after the Game 7 OT win over Buffalo. We've been idle for so long, and I hope we can get to our game quickly.

Yeah, your boys were skating in wet cement in the 3rd and in the OT last night. But you know what good teams do? They find a way to win.

I fully expect to see the Canes flying in the 1st on Thursday night, but in a Keystone Cops kind of way. But they'll refind their game fast.

The key to Montreal winning this series if they can pull it off? Not thinking that they're the Florida Panthers and trying shit with the Canes. Ottawa thought they could do that and we all see where they are now.

I fully expect the Habs to play like the Habs, not some other team.

Seeing a lot of sweep predictions around the internet. I don’t think this one is a sweep.
 
OK, opponent done. Can we get on with this thing now? Yes. Yes we can.

Kind of a wild game, with lots of running around but not all that many high quality chances generated overall. Or not as many as I would have expected. Both goalies were solid, which wasn’t a given based on the past couple of games. That alone kept the score more reasonable. Buffalo generated more expected goals but they were always chasing the game after that awful start. Once it got to OT is was about gets and making a play and Montreal did the trick. Congrats to them. See ya in Raleigh on Thursday
 
Coming through two brutal series, the Habs are battle ready, but playoff hockey is a game of attrition. A rested Carolina team is also going to be the healthiest of the two as well. I rather a little rust versus the grind MTL just went through. I’m not taking MTL lightly because of what we saw in the regular season and in the playoffs, but we are the better team!

You'd have to be slightly crazy to predict ANY more sweeps in the playoffs. These next two series are going 6 or 7. East and west. Vegas isn't going to roll over and let the Avs sweep them. And Montreal has proven they can beat the Canes. 4 more times, we shall see.

I mean, if I trusted Colorado’s goaltending to hold a level for 4 straight games I could see a sweep there. This ain’t the same Vegas team everybody seems to think it is. They were a 95 point team in the regular season for a reason.

This Carolina/Montreal series? Nah. I’m not sure what brand of numbskull is predicting such a thing, but I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in them. Then again, I don’t put a heck of a lot of stock in much of anybody, so … yeah.
 
Honestly, it’s the pick that sends the message. They could reduce the fine to nothing and would still be sending the intended message. But it’s Torts so they probably won’t do that, and I’d guess that he got warned by the league office before he even started that job … given how his press interactions went in his last … checks notes … three jobs.

We drove up during spring break to see a Flyers/Habs game. We had a wonderful experience. Made friends with a scalper who took our 3 random scattered seats and gave us 2 together. (One guy backed out of the trip last minute). He showed us around and asked us a lot of questions about Andy Griffith and Mayberry. When people asked where you were from and you said "North Carolina". Every single one of them said "ah...Mayberry".
