2025-26 NHL Miscellaneous Thread

If that’s the list Larkin should be staying in Detroit!!! Florida is comical…that team might have the fewest assets to trade in all the NHL in terms of young top end players and prospects and picks!!! Stevie Y is going to want a very nice package coming back for Larkin…and limiting him to only 3 teams is certainly not going to help his cause. Larkin must have forgotten he has like 5 more years on that contract, does he think Detroit will just give him away for peanuts…

Vegas will find a way. They always seem to pull gold from their anus with trades and/or free agency

Well, presuming they LTIR Pietrangelo again (safe bet), they currently have $12 million in Cap for next year. However, that’s without an extension for Dorofeyev and only 4 defenseman. They’d have to shed more salary to fit Larkin in, and I’m not sure … and that’s before you even get to what Detroit would accept in return. Vegas, after all, has no draft picks to speak of and no real prospects either. It would have to be NHL players … and do you even want a package with Hertl as the big return? Because I would not. The gold isn’t the issue so much as what they can afford to give up.

Florida on the other hand has zero dollars that they shouldn’t be spending on a goalie and some quality depth.

Well, the Yzerplan did send an unprotected 1st rounder to St Louis for Justin Faulk, so maybe he does accept dreck from Vegas? Plenty of people have gotten poor by overestimating Yzerman's ability to put a winning team together in Detroit.

You simply cannot let Larkin bend you over a barrel just because he wants out and decided to pout! And as much as Bill Guerin likes to wheel and deal, didn’t he just empty out the cupboard quite a bit for Quinn Hughes? I guess if Detroit wanted a great young goalie in Wallstedt as part of a package that makes sense except Detroit has Cossa and Augustine on the way in net.

Why would Minnesota be a better place to play in than Carolina? I can understand Vegas and Florida but not Minnesota.
