Hull beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Championship playoff final. The winner came in the 5th minute of 2nd half extra time. The Tigers finished 21st in the the Championship last season, avoiding relegation on goal differential. They snuck into the playoffs this year when Wrexham only took 1 of 6 points in their last 2 matches while all took all 6.

Hull’s last Premier League season was 2016-17 when they finished 18th with 34 points.

Fine. Two of the more dire yet consistently decent programs in English football. Hard to imagine either one of them summoning the financial resources to actually stick around. So, at least we get an orange team for a year instead of yet another red one.
