He turned down 8x 11.85 . He wanted the Leon deal and they said no.
The savings allowed them to get a goalie and a center.
Necas contract will age better then Rants.
He punked out over 150k and a bit more take home pay.

Necas is also 3 years younger than Rantanen. Contract will expire when he’s 35, vs 37 that it would have been for Rantanen. A little bit more prime years.
He doesnt play a physical game but fits in well with Nate
