Gudas & Hischier were apparently the two players targeted by Habs at deadline.
Gudas for Xhekaj deal was agreed upon w Ana, but Gudas wouldn’t agree to an extension w Habs (UFA this summer).

Hischier would be a phenomenal #2 center for us. I don't see why NJ would trade him. He has another year left at $7.2m but I suspect he'll get at least $10m. Great 2-way center.

IF actually available, have to think cost of acquisition only drops in the summer vs trade deadline.
Ana is in a precarious position, they need to start signing their young talent to long term deals.
Will Carlson, Gauthier, Sennecke, Zellweger, Mintyukov take hometown discount deals like Habs young players did?
McTavish & Dostal are their only young players locked up longterm. If McTavish is @ $7M how much will Gauthier, Carlsson & Sennecke demand / settle for?

Habs need a player like MM who needs a refresh and is locked up at the right age
