2025 NHL UFA/Trade Thread

Who cares if we get value and use capital to get players at some point

Most likely 3 are gonzo in any scenario

Need a macro view not short term micro look

Those extra picks dumping players helped us land Hutson and Hage

Teams will be in dump mode soon enough as many wont go to the cap ceiling , Habs have the money to take on salary

Patience its only year 3
Thou art being obtuse.

Is it fair to players busting their asses to get back in the mix to have rug pulled out? We have too many draft picks as it is. Hughes said we don't need any more.

Life isn't fair. If it were, Trump would be in prison.

The players' job is to bust their asses every shift whether the team is in the mix or not.

Like what they did with Romanov. Too bad Dach can't seem to put it together. Time to move him to wing.

I thinking more a Carrier type move than Dach. i.e. Less projection and more known commodity. Just avoid the contract albatross. Would obviously cost more than Barron. e.g moving pick + Mailloux or Farrell in a package.

It’s all about the return that you can get, not fairness. If we can get first round picks or prospects who would have a good chance to contribute in the NHL soon, then you have to move some of these pending UFA’s by the deadline.

We aren't getting a first for Evans nor Armia
