2025 NHL UFA/Trade Thread

Kuz at a couple milly on a 1 or 2 year deal might be the short-term answer then. Not ideal, but it might not be the worst thing for Demidov either.
 
Id sooner spend a million on Veleno than Kuz. I dont want a guy with substance abuse issues around the dressing room. Additionally, I think Kuz is washed up.
 
Depends on the team trading for him. He'd be just what the doctor ordered for a few teams in need of a veteran defenseman who can move the puck at a semi-reasonable cap hit.

and it's likely to go lower, along with his next contract demands, the longer he's stuck behind Hutson and Dobson in offensive zone starts

a trade now or early in the hockey year is in everyone's best interests....

He could start the season on the right side with Lane, and Carrier as the 3rd RD. I can't imagine MM on the 3rd pairing here. I think DR is in Laval until Matheson is dealt.

He is getting paid with the kind of stupid money handed to UFA D like Gabrikov

Should have been traded 2 summers ago , most of the leverage is gone
