Ownership has apparently given Stevie Y carte blanche… I said it after he was named GM.

Stevie Y was a creation of:

- being right place at right time working for NHL HQ when concussions lawsuits first started and was able to use inside info to go against the grain focusing on drafting & trading for small skill when rest of the league was following LAK / Bruins heavy hockey mentality when named TBay GM in 2010
+
- no state tax TBay advantage

In Det, drafting has been avg at best, trades & UFA signings mediocre

His drafting has been good.

Dude, they’re not trading a 3rd overall 22yo top 6 center for a 31yo LHD with a year left on his contract. Let’s be serious for a second. McT is really good, they don’t have to trade him, and they’re not making the playoffs anyway.

MM is a soon to be UFA , our time to cash in was 2 years ago
