2026 Hurricanes Off Season Thread

We watched on tv. WRAL had the better coverage. Raleigh looked beautiful on a CoC day. Unfortunately, WTVD’s coverage was not as good and that’s who NHL Network used for their feed. Not that anyone from elsewhere would have watched.

I have done a ton of hockey related things in my life, play, coach, parent, fan, but today brought a tear to my eye when I reflected back to that first trip to Greensboro to cheer the Canes on to this scene today…that was just freaking awesome and I still can’t believe the support that I saw!!!

ABC coverage was shit. Half the video was low resolution like it was 1980 and they Spent half the time showing people in the studio. WTF

Hoping WRAL rebroadcasts this week so I can record it

Certainly a huge difference between the tarp at the Greensboro Coliseum to the No Tarp of today.

Beautiful day to cap a fantastic season! Listening to the reactions from the players, they were blown away by the size and passion of the crowd. The city did a really good job of managing the massive influx of people and the player buses were pretty cool. Unlike the SCF game, they didn't tighten the gaps and there were way too many stretches of emptiness between some of the parade participants. In one case, Tripp had time to jump out of his car and spent about 8 minutes running around hand-slapping fans. All in all, a fitting end to the season.

Agreed. I recorded both since I was busy. ABC11’s coverage was pretty embarrassing, honestly. WRAL’s was slightly more professional.
