2026 NHL UFA/Trade Thread

then you will never trade for a good 2C
Dobson went for 2 firsts and Heino and Guhle has more value than him

Now your adding a top 10 prospect in the game who might a stud in 2 years

Why the heck would the Blue move their 1C in the first place at 27

A player like Thomas is a no brainer.
I'm just not convinced he is actually available
Rumors persist that he’s quietly asked for a trade.

That doesn’t mean they have to trade him but if true why keep a player that doesn’t want to be there?

Maybe it's Thomas that wants to be traded.
That’s the rumor since January.

Blues fielded offers to see what the value in the market was, they didn’t like it. Doesn’t mean it can’t be revisited in summer.

They aren’t asking for impact players in return, they want blue chip prospects.

Hage, Engstrom and two firsts is more than fair.

Hage, Guhle, first and second is also fair but likely doesn’t get it done.

I know people like Thomas, and I get it, but Hage, Engstrom and 2 firsts would be sending the equivalent of 3 firsts for him. Is that not a very high for him?

I suspect he isn't going anywhere anyway.

I used to be against trading Hage as I thought it would be cruel to trade him before he plays for us, but he took a piss on us so if he goes, I won't shed a tear.

First line centers and top pair D cost. Thomas is a first line center.

Suzuki would easily get the equivalent of 3 firsts. You don’t trade guys like that unless they ask out.

For a player in his prime signed to a value contract.
If that is the price. Do it

The thing to remember with Thomas is that he has a full NMC. So while many teams would likely be interested, he would dictate where he would go.

Hage and Reinbacher and a first

I’m more bullish on Engstrom than Rhino.
Rhino will get injured every year. He plays like he constantly needs a massage

If we ignore the injuries, I'm way more bullish on DR since he fits a hole perfectly in our roster. Not sure how Engstrom fits long term.

Engstrom can play on the right side. He’ll be better than Carrier

I’d love to ignore the injuries with Reinbacher but I simply cannot - his game is so stiff which does not bode well for avoiding injuries

Hope I’m wrong
