2nd Rnd '25 Playoffs: Leafs vs Panthers - Flo-Rida them onto the ECF - LFG!

Like his father before him, Domi gives up far more to the other team than he contributes, on balance. that is why he's bounced around so much in the league. good on him for fooling a GM into investing.
In his defense, they played him at C for some reason, then spent a 1st round pick on another W that they thought was a C and shifted the new dude to the 4th line.

Crazy bad asset management and talent assessment.

they lose and it’s on 16 and 34. Missteps by mgmt for sure but lots of teams win with shittier depth than Laughton and Krok and shittier $4m players than domi.
Would they be fucked even if domi was good because of Matthews and Marner being shit? Of course. But it's ok to point out how limited domi is too. It's a lot of money to pay for a liability. That's all.

i hate mitch's "flush it down the toilet" answer so much.

don't flush it. let it sit and burn and hurt and make you angry and motivate you.

goddamit.

did we hire the worst sports psychologists in existence or do these idiots just not listen to them.
A little from Column A, a little from Column B...

Domi is a guy that can provide okay impact within fairly narrow use cases and only if you have fairly specific player types to line him up with. He is what he is, a playmaking winger who plays best in transition, has some sandpaper and good hands but doesn't shoot the puck enough and rough defensive instincts. For him to work you need to a centreman who can make up for him defensively, while at the same time has offensive chops to finish chances, and preferably another winger with speed and finishing ability on the other side (Domi is pretty solid in transition, but the centre is usually your deep forward supporting the D)

But, we should have had a fucking plan for this when we signed him. There's a reason he looked good next to Auston, and if the plan wasn't to use him up the lineup so we could spread the skill throughout the top 9, I don't know what the fucking point of signing him was.

Domi Playoffs 5v5: 0.96g/60 (#4), 1.92p1/60 (#4), 1.92p/60 (#6), +0.02gf/60 (#9)

Note that Robertson ranks #1 in all four categories in his limited playing time, so bump Domi up 1 rank in each category amongst "regulars".

Also in addition to Chicago, Carolina and Columbus i would add Anaheim and Buffalo as teams that really, desperately need to be in on Marner.

Ducks feel very Mitchy to me
