About this 8 game road trip from hell...

Goaltending was not our issue the last few games. It wasn't even the Ahl guys which have been scoring a good portion of our goals.

The issue is the veterans who are all coming to a cold at the same time. Plek, Pacioretty, DD, Subban and Markov all have been sub par for a while. They need to man up and get back to it.

Yes, it was. Sub .900 save % doesn't win in the NHL.

DD has 4 points in his last 17 games and has won his face off battles just 5 times over that span.

we needed 1000 last night, just to get to the shootout

Yes but when you're having your own scoring issues it's probably deflating to see your own goalie give up two goals on just 15 shots . . . pretty much night after night. The forwards don't play hockey in a vacuum.

both goals allowed were excellent and did not scar the team psychologically as the Habs came out firing in the 3rd

Some times you need your goalies to stop excellent chances . . . lie Quick did last night. Like I said, a save % under .900 is not a recipe for success, especially when your O is having trouble scoring even two goals a game, let alone 3. Price's injury hurts . . . despite the offensive woes.

IMO, we didn't force Quick to make the same saves lastnight. Where was Subban's roof daddy? We also tried to make that cross ice onetimer but it never clicked.

I wonder if you can bet on the Habs not making the playoffs. That would be a nice hedge.

and of course Eller hit the post, why wasn't that a penalty shot I wonder
