Anybody own a Veloster?

I love my 2013 Veloster...love at fist sight really, but 2012 didn't have turbo so I waited.
Anyways, still love my car, still like looking at it, but I had some engine problems, took it in....and I'm getting a new engine fully covered.

There was a recall a while back and Hyundai has extended warranties and is basically covering their asses, which is great.

Just wanted to let people know, if you have one and it's running fine keep an ear out, maybe see your dealer, not sure if they can check for potential trouble or it's something that is just going to happen, but if you find your engine is shot, odds are you are eligible for another one, assuming you kept up on regular maintenance.

Yep, I feel like the auto industry is borrowing from the gaming industry...get it out there, we'll fix it later.

With a new engine...and Ill get the shocks done as well as anything else they point out...it's practically a new car and as I said I am still in love with her, so I might get ten more years.

I'm cheap, my wife was going to but a tesla but he's all wonky now so she's shopping around the big 3's EV selection...but if I can drive a car I like and it cost me less than 20k?
I'll buy that for a dollar.

I had the 2019 veloster turbo. I just traded it in off the early lease for the purchase of my 2022 Honda Civic Touring Sedan.

The veloster had an issue with the thermostat in the first month and it actually left me stuck on the highway with overheating. But they fixed that.

It had 201hp and could go, but I needed a bit of a more mature vehicle. My new ride car 2.jpgcar1.jpg

OT: I think the gaming industry has moved on to following the *other* gaming industry strategies. Lootboxes (their version of slot machines), microtransactions, etc., are their mantra. Diablo Immoral is but the latest example of that.

Not sure if the NFT trend has run it's course on the gaming industry as well (now there's grifting).

Nice Hoss

I ended up trading in my audi for two cars. An every day suv and a toy.

My kids are grown, I put it away for the winter and drive and Escape which I do not like but like I said, I'm cheap so I'll drive it into the ground and let my wife spend all the car money.

Actually, she's looking at the Ioniq now

I'm debating on trading in my 7 seater sorento for a smaller SUV PHEV like the Tucson.

The wife seems to think we need the 7 seater for the 1 time we take my 14 year old to wonderland with his dumb smelly friends.

The wait list for the PHEV is so long though.

We just bought my daughter a honda fit, she's in Jasper so the drive out there and back is going to be about as "economical" as it can be.

We drove it from basically Newmarket to Ottawa on one tank of gas and unfortunately that's exciting now.

Just bought a new 2022 Tucson awd (H drive) for my kid. It's really really nice and handles wonderfully. Recommend you test driving it.

No kidding. Gas is 5.50/gal now and everyone is bitching.

so I guess $5.50/gal is equivalent to around $1.46 per litre.

My job is not 9-5, definitely not 5 days a week anymore, and I enjoyed going in for a few hours, maybe half a day...can't really justify that now when I factor in gas...and I have to factor in gas now lol.
Almost did 7 hours yesterday, sonofabitch

It's fucked in any metric you choose.

It's almost like not investing in electrifying the transportation network a generation ago when the technology existed but needed a R&D push was a world altering mistake or something.

Who knew that trusting world stability to a fuel source largely found in the biggest douchebag nations on the planet was a terrible idea and that their entire foreign policy would revolve around them trying to bend us to their will because of that....seriously, who knew?
