Anybody own a Veloster?

What I'm trying to say is to be nice to young people. Because they're going to be fixing our fuck ups for a long, long time and "respect your elders" is probably going to be on a case by case basis. Start preparing what excuses you're going to give them now.

This can be traced to the beginning of the auto industry. They had the option to go electric but oil was everywhere and guys were getting rich so why invest in something new?

...one of the things I had not considered til recently was how much quieter everything would be if we had been in on ev's from the start.

I've done the Centre Island bike stuff and man do you ever notice the lack of motor traffic and the accompanying noise.
The world would still be a noisy place but...I live on Dufferin near Eglinton for a while and it would be a different experience if the cars were silent.

It's almost like not investing in electrifying the transportation network a generation ago when the technology existed but needed a R&D push was a world altering mistake or something.

Who knew that trusting world stability to a fuel source largely found in the biggest douchebag nations on the planet was a terrible idea and that their entire foreign policy would revolve around them trying to bend us to their will because of that....seriously, who knew?

we bought a new (to us) Subaru Crosstrek in March. getting harder and harder to find vehicles with manual transmission.

my wish list basically narrowed our search to only a small handful of vehicles cause I wanted a hatchback that had all wheel drive and a stick. and the Mrs. wanted something used.

early returns are... uneventful. first out of province trip this weekend so we'll see how she holds up.

Challenger is my manual.

Palisade calligraphy edition has everything an escalade has at half the price. I don't need a badge.

I've owned several. Always bought them for the kids because of the warranty. Never really had major issues with any of them.

Finally bought one for myself. This is my personal first.

10 year bumper to bumper is what I like
my mom is on year 7 of her first Hyundai. no major issues thus far but rust is apparently becoming one.

we just moved on from a 2008 Matrix which I think we got more than our money's worth out of...

you're going to have a hard time convincing me to buy a car that is not made by a Japanese company...

although South Korea could possibly do the trick...

Don't care what you drive.

I have a pathological hatred of Toyotas. I even make friends that drive them park on the street.

To each their own

When I was younger I’d buy used American. Never again.

I’ve had no problems with any of the Jap cars. Nissan, Honda, Infiniti, Toyota.

I hate Ford.
When I get into the Escape I hit the E Brake pedal half the time...I detest bad ergonomics.
We got our son a Fiesta and it came with some whacked-out automatic transmission that was supposed to feel like manual and it was so poorly designed he got rid of it a year later.

That's two strikes, I'm out.

We've done Hyundai and Subaru mostly, but somehow we end up with fords too.

...my niece bought her brother a crappy little Ford Focus to help him out, he gets a DUI and she gave it to our daughter...now its in or driveway cause she has a Honda now lol.

Back when I was in school I bought a used 98 Ford Explorer. Got me through the summer and just as I was going back to school in the fall it broke down. Started with the alternator. Then the transfer case. Then the transmission. Didn’t fix it. Sent it straight to the scrap yard.

Said I’d never buy a ford again.

My first car was a Pontiac. It was great. I had it through high school, university, and then even shipped it out here and drove it through law school.

Right around when I started working, someone hit me and apparently the damage was more than the car was worth at the time (I think $5k) so they paid me out. German all the way since then.
