This is true too, but I think that is more of an angry, gonna score here no matter what, type of thing.

That's part of the problem with these guys, they're not just assholes on the ice.

Last year (56 games) there were only a few forwards who had ~ 1 PIM a game and scored double digit goals.

Wilson: 96 pim, 13 goals
B Tkachuk: 69 pim, 17 goals
M Tkachuk: 55 pim, 16 goals
Nurse: 55 pim, 16 goals
Sam Bennett: 52 pim, 10 goals
Wheeler: 50 pim, 15 goals
M Foligno: 49 pim, 11 goals

Honourable mention to Barzal, Marchand, E Kane, Gourde, Fiala, Svechnikov, Hornqvist, Lucic

There's the intersection of thuggery (using PIM as an analogue) and the ability to play hockey in 2021's NHL. Other than Wilson, I don't see a legitimate "psycho" there. Who has Lucic scared recently (and who the fuck would want him within screaming distance of our top 6?). Darnell Nurse apparently isn't scary enough to deter McJesus' getting raped nightly (precipitating Edmonton complaining in the media). Does anyone think a Tkachuk is scary?

Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of value in these chippy, hard to play against top 6 guys with some sandpaper to their game. But they scare no one. Wilson is the one name I see there who can change a game with a random act of violence.

What are we even talking about here? That the team can't handle Pierre-Luc Dubois? I don't think Pionk was trying to injure Sandin on that play. If Auston has a problem getting mugged, he needs to figure out what to do about it all by himself.
 
I noticed in the LAK/VAN game that the Kings ran down the clock in their own end with the score 4-0...not even trying to get a shot to break the shutout.

Is this the new trend in hockey now???? Saw something similar a few weeks back with another shutout situation.

i think some fans are also separatists so those fans would care - but like anti vaxxers probably just a vocal minority that will claim they are not fans...until the first cup run

i think the GM thing is more "immigrants taking our jobs" type of people

but i have never lived in quebec or montreal so i am just guessing
