It does give hope that Jack will eventually snap out of it, its just a matter of gambling it will happen before round 1

His options appear to be Edmonton ( obviously no) and Washington, who are probably on par with Toronto. Leafs should at minimum be trying, but alot of the fan base simply wants to blindly stand by Jack, cuz nice guy and or, Leafs need " A dman".

He might also just want to stay in Chicago for the remainder of this year and not have to choose between leaving his family behind or uprooting them.

Dude’s already got multiple Cups, so he won’t necessarily be desperate to go ring-chasing.

If he's not moved by deadline day this is fully what i expect to be the case.
 
And there should be no problem with bringing in another goalie. It's obvious Mrazek is a goner this summer. so there need be no shock if the Leafs make a change this month to bolster their playoff chances.
