Trouba threw a bitchfit to get shipped to NY so with that NMC he ain't going to Calgary. Too bad becaue that's a pretty nice move where the puzzle pieces line up perfectly.
91st percentile WAR is really, really good. But that's a top 40 player in the NHL. Be careful paying top 40 players like they're top 10 players.
They do actually have a few good players to grab. This is the Big Brain move. Target the non Tkachuk players. Lindholm, Toffoli, Mangiapane

Would right the wrong of a few years ago when poor Toronto kid had to take a Habs offer in a depressed market. Ugh.Tyler Toffoli at the deadline feels like a move we should consider based on how Robertson works out.
As for Tkachuk, gotta believe free wheelin and dealin Ottawa is hot on his trail to reunite the brothers, no??
They have lots of assets to get it done. They're my top pick to land him.
I guess I'm making an assumption based on their relationship without knowing if they're close, and I guess there could be the ego aspect of things with the C that could stand in the way. NHL brothers have tended to want to play together based on what we've seen over the years (Sedins, Staals, Niedermeyers just off the top of my head). I was just saying I'd expect Ottawa to have interest in landing a guy like that, and the relation makes the hunch stronger, but sure, Matthew himself may have no interest in that set up.I dunno. Would he really be all that eager to sign on long-term with a team his baby bro’s captaining in an even smaller Canadian market than the one he’s currently playing in?
Or would he want to follow Gaudreau’s footsteps and move south of the border?
Just saw an article saying the Habs were basically over the cap with Dach still unsigned and couldn’t believe it with Weber and Petry and all of the deadline players shipped out previously. Shocked to confirm it on CF. It was saying the Habs need to unload Drouin or Armia on Seattle and presumably give them something.
Price goes on LTIR at the beginning of the season, no?
