Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Win-win.

Vegas gets to have the NHL's all-time ironman mark set by a guy wearing a Golden Knights jersey.

And Phil gets to combine two of his favourite hobbies---playing hockey and gambling in casinos.

When he first got to the Leafs he came to a random poker night at my university rink pub in Oshawa. Still not entirely sure why he was there. It seemed like he came by himself.

My favourite Phil thing I think is still the photo of the basement of a McMansion he sold somewhere, it was this giant room with a giant screen on the wall but only a single theatre chair attached to the floor in front of it.

Oh I wanted to go to that game.
Flyers scratching Yandle was bullshit.

I dunno. To me the only thing that’s bullshit is that Yandle was allowed to get past Doug Jarvis’s mark in the first place.

By the time the Flyers finally gave his streak the coup de grace, he hadn’t been anything resembling an NHL-calibre player for years. The only thing that kept him going was the media outcry whenever his current team considered benching him.

Part of what should make a streak like that impressive is remaining deserving of your spot in the lineup throughout the streak. Kessel’s done that and Yandle absolutely hadn’t.

It's too bad a contract issue robbed Steve Larmer of the record. He was most deserving to pass Jarvis' record.
