Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

We can say "hey why didn't he do that in Toronto" all we want but the truth is, his points per 60 rate was comparable to Kerfoot's with the Leafs this year, way way way better than ZARs, and slightly better than Lafferty's with the Hawks. Granted, he will not keep up this pace with the Hawks with a 30% s% and 12% on-ice S%. He is only playing 10min/game and scoring at a 41point pace with Chicago which obviously isn't sustainable. But the floor scenario for him was always that he's as good as Lafferty with some upside to be better.

It's not gonna break the roster and there is no need to cry about it but it's just another example of them giving bizarre preferential treatment to inferior vets for little reason with no data to back it up. The small mistakes continue to pile up for this organization.

Yep. He simply wasn't given a chance, even when he showed signs of playing strong hockey. He fits the bill in terms of style for being a good 4th liner.
Leafs need to stop signing too many vets at training camp and pretending it's a "Competition". It's not. The vets get it no matter what. Use our own talent. We have it in the organization. We got Anderson 2 1/2 years ago and at that point he had played in the NHL already for the Devils. Where is his chance?

I'm not sure Lafferty is supposed to be better than Anderson...but he has to be grittier/tougher/more physical. That was the theme of the deadline with all players added. guess we'll see here. I don't rate him much so far.
