Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

its rape adjacent, or rapey.
Not even fucking close you Muppet. The internet is full of chicks and dudes and shit i don't have names for that show this shit. I'm supposed to believe she feels the same as actually getting raped? Fuck off with that inconsiderate shit. This is all inconsiderate. Use your heads, fucked up word and one day it'll stop because it's offensive.

It's not, and it's never been suggested that it is.

But also, you're doing that thing again where you're minimizing what he did.
Fuck him. May he never play a game on the NHL. Don't care.

Walk me through how the term of rapey couldn't be considered offensive to women and men that have had their lives rocked much worse than this?

Fucking incredible.

I will say one thing here - if you were talking to a rape victim, you’d never use the word rapey in that conversation, right?

Yeah, people show that stuff all the time on the internet - with consent.

He has issues understanding consent apparently. Therefore, rapey.
People show it all the time without consent and if you think the two are remotely close you've been way too sheltered.

There's a scale of severity and this doesn't come close to rape so stop using a stupid word. Be smarter than that.

For clarity...this is what he did

- Took picture of young woman while she was performing sex act on him....without her knowledge or consent
- Shared that photo with his hockey team on their group chat
- The photo (taken without knowledge or consent) did not show her face, so to ensure everyone knew who she was, shared a screen shot of her snapchat screen so she could be identified as the person in the photo
- publicly called his victim "vindictive" and accused of her of trying to ruin his career when she went public with it

I mean, that's pretty rapey.

There's no winning with hypocrites. You choose your words and decide what is acceptable and heaven forbid someone disagrees.

If you have any consideration in you for what rape victims go through including "her fault" shit you'd see it's not a big deal to drop the word from your vocabulary.

Or "rape", or a lot of other words to describe any sort of violence, sexual or otherwise.

I'd try to avoid the entire fucking subject because why trigger her?

It's childish, disgusting, intrusive, emotionally damaging.

Rape is all that and physical, could be pregnant, woman blamed most of the time. She went through none of that so while I do feel for the girl if she was standing by what you're equating I'd tell her to fuck off, you don't know what rape is if you think that.

You're missing the point.

The word "rapey" does nothing to diminish the severity of rape (the act or the word). It increases the severity of all the "boys will be boys" creepy shit that was more or less societally accepted for decades that creeped women out.
