Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

sure - but anderson will come closer to 30 goals than antropov ever will

What's that?

Antropov's best seasons 28G in 81 G, & 26 in 72 (the mythical 30 goal pace season). Anderson's is 27 in 82, and 19 in 63 (25G pace).

and yes, I'm willing to bet that Anderson never out scores Antropov's best season. 28 > 27. Throw in Antropov being a centre for another >

Someone missed 2008-2009 I think.

Yeah, this is pretty spot on. He's a better player, but the similarities are there.

I do agree he's better than Clarkson was when the Leafs got him. I guess the best way to put it is that he's David Clarkson if the Leafs had gotten him 2-3 years earlier in his career.

Even his statline this year is peak Clarkson: 11 goals in 28 games (which is pretty good!), but only five assists. So he's basically a Balrog---he shall not pass. Offensively, he's got a plus NHL shot, but aside from that doesn't have much ability to generate offense.

$6M for long term of that is just...yuck.

I don't know how Toffoli does worse on his deal as a UFA than RFA Anderson does on his after a 1 goal season.

By the way, on the doesn't pass point, I still marvel at how Matty with skill coming out of his ass never has all that many assists, and that McDavid has basically the same number of goals and 42 assists to Matty's 17 right now. I mean, he doesn't seem like he's that much better, but he really is.

Habs came out flying tonight; lead the Oil 3-0 after one period (generated 8 high danger chances according to NatHatTrick)

So, I highly recommend getting Covid and getting a week off!!!

McDavid also not afraid to goon things up to give his team a spark. If Auston could do this; you need not have spent that money on Simmonds.

Fill in the blank with anything and it still works.

And what is with these results. Like we have a tough time with Edmonton but Montreal just crushes them?
Well we did crush the Oil overall in the season series. The Sens appear to be our bogey team if you want to make this point :). Some teams are just built better to counter certain styles would be my guess as to why this happens though.

The leafs are 6-1-2 against the Oilers. That's not a tough time.

And the Habs are better than the Oilers too.
