Dallas had a good year but I think they lit their d on fire a bit. Some odd decisions by Nill. They're obviously good but not elite compared to colorado and carolina imo. Probably in that next tier with Minnesota and Tampa. Then everyone else in the playoffs are ok at best.

Feels like many of the elite teams from the last few years got worse this year, with the exception of Colorado and Carolina. Dallas and Edmonton in particular actively sabotaged their rosters and got worse.

So there's a pretty sizable gap after the top two teams in the NHL for the first time in awhile.
