Don’t think Vlad and his oligarch and mafia Don buddies have spare USD’s to toss around at disgruntled NHLers these days.

Nowadays the KHL is moreso a refuge for players that either aren’t good enough for an NHL or AHL job, or bums like Brendan Leipsic or Mitchell Miller who’ve been cancelled/blacklisted in North America.

Well he certainly ain't getting a job in the NHL if he demands 9 million. So even if they won't pay him that in Russia, he'll end up there on account of no one will want him in North America.

But yeah he'll get a bridge.

Hard pass on spending our somewhat limited dry powder and ~5.5 on a bridge here.

There are other RFA situations to keep an eye on where the player could step right into the lineup and be actually good. Brandt Clarke, Zellweger, Edvinsson, Drysdale, Spence.
