Mitchell is proving that a winger can carry a team to the finals! And honestly at this stage and at his age and aav, if they could trade Marner (and the mid to late 1st that they would have gotten if they kept Marner) for Gavin McKenna and a Colorado 1st, you had to do it. What happened prior to Marner leaving was where we should have regrets, not losing him. In the interest of prolonging the window, the accidental trade for McKenna was simply in the Leafs best interest.
