Batherson signs $10.75 x 8.
Given all the other deals being handed out, seems a bit cheap. But he's older and this will take him to 36 so there's maybe more risk that he falls off. But he's been a great pick (4th round) and player for them.

Or if not destroyed, advanced player salaries by at least 2-3 years.
The trade market is going to be super interesting now. Guys that signed for basically half of what these new contracts are, and are as good or better players than these guys, are going to be so valuable. For instance, Knies is now way way more valuable than a few months ago. Raddysh left maybe $4M to $5M per on the table by signing his deal. Willy is underpaid by $3M or $4M now. Just absolute insanity in the disparity between players that signed before that offer sheet and players that signed after. It's going to make the league super interesting if they don't have a labor stoppage because of it.

This one is actually insane. He has 36 points in 82 career games. He's 24 years old.

Absolutely crazy. All of Chaykes' bottom six signings that looked expensive at the time now look like cheap steals. A good fourth liner is basically $3M or $4M now. Lorentz on the open market is $3M, no doubt.

Also, this shit is why it was so important to keep Rielly. $7.5M x 4 is a completely undermarket deal now, especially when he delivers a great bounceback year which he will do this season.

It's actually worked out pretty well that his percentage of the cap is going to decrease sharply from season to season as he ages from his early-to-mid 30's. Last year it was 7.9% of the cap. This season it's 7.2%. Next season it'll be 6.6%.

This all feels like front offices over reacting to the Philly offer sheet. I know the cap is going up a lot, but this is crazy work. Benson signed in June before all of this craziness and might be better than Leonard.
What seemed pricey but a good bet a few months ago seems cheap now. How long does this market actually hold for? Cowan gets offer sheeted after a 45-50 point season if we don't throw 8-9 million at him? Nah.

He’s 100% getting $8M minimum if he puts up 50 points. How can he not when Minten just got $7.2M?
My actual prediction is that we’ll extend him for the exact same number as Knies at $7.75M.
