Around the League 2019-2026 Edition

I want them to get to a point where they can go super line at times (or maybe always like Boston) because it would be really fucking explosive. They obviously couldn't in that series because their depth got eaten alive. I am all for insulating the big four with low event high possession players. More Tuch/Zucker types, less kapanen/AJ's. A big part of that is trusting Willy to center a second line. He was obviously over his head in that series but in fairness it was new for him and something he hadn't done for several months. He should definitely be able to drive a second line.. thankfully now without possession disaster kapanen on his wing.

Super line is just as super with Willy on it as it is with Tavares. Much much better to keep Tavares as the 2C with Marner. If that doesn’t provide the explosiveness you’re looking for, we’ve got big problems.

Yeah Tampa dominated them way more than the leafs did (thus increasing the odds that the right team wins). As an elite team should. I'm fine with it because I don't see the leafs as elite but some here do. If that's the case, you should not be happy with how they played in the series. They outplayed them and probably should have won but it wasn't a truly dominant performance by any stretch. Leaves too much up to prestoluck.ir

Well at least the leafs got their ribbon for competing and being good sports .... The participation ribbon.

That makes it worthwhile lololol.

Im fine with not being satisfied by a won round or two. That makes sense. But that’s the literal opposite of being satisfied by a first/qualifying round loss.

Who else but zeke would be enough of a lunatic, frothing-at-the-mouth homer that they’d respond to four consecutive opening round defeats by their favourite sports team by arguing for the superiority of first round playoff exits over deeper playoff runs?

Like, again, not just excusing them for losing in the first round, but coming up with an argument for why losing in the opening round is better and more impressive than advancing farther in the playoffs.

Gotta love the guy. Never change, man.

poor Zeke never recovered from the Bruins coming back from being down 4-1 in the third and now spends his days trolling multiple hockey forums

i feel sad for the poor fuck that a sport affects him to this degree

Sure seems that you guys are much more upset about and affected by this loss than I am, tbh.

I know it may be hard for you guys to believe but I do actually believe this year was a step forward, not backwards.

Because I do actually care about stuff like xGF% and that Wins are a very noisy stat.

+1.... 2020 was another step forward for improvements in the quality and variety of both weed and mushrooms, making humdrum Stanley Cup losses much easier to stomach.

Happiness lies in thinking outside the box.

Who here is going to volunteer to join Zeke at the x/cup parade? We can't let the poor fuck be the only one standing on the parade route.

Zeke is a first ballot hall of famer. He says this stuff with so much conviction too. He truly believes everything he says. It's nuts. Skip Bayless of forumice. What a legend.

I'm not even bothering to try to track the depth of the argument, but there is a point in there somewhere.

Literally no one who isn't satisfied by being a tough out in the 1st round would be satisfied by winning that game 7 and then getting swept in the 2nd round (which I believe was the initial example he used that set off this shitshow). Sneaking through that one game only to get whomped in the 2nd round means as close to nothing as something can mean.
