Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Gonna be a very long next decade in Pittsburgh. Good.
Hard to feel bad for them. Those contracts they gave out to Malkin & Letang were fucking egregious. They still have most of their top draft picks, but they don't have much coming in the pipeline.

I read a few weeks ago that there were grumblings about the new ownership (Fenway Sports Group) and their mentality towards the organization.

I get the feeling Pittsburgh's going to go the same way as Philly. Deny the need to rebuild, keep on pushing the chips for the now and then one day, they'll wake up with 5 years of shit in front of them and no real end in sight.

Their predicament…. You can’t rebuild as long as Crosby’s there, he saved the franchise in that city & Sid isn’t getting traded, he’s going to retire a Penguin

LA, Chicago and Pittsburgh all did the same thing. LA hit the wall first so they were able to accelerate their rebuild a bit faster.

That 5 years maybe more, they have zilch to move forward with

They need to hit the skids fast and have lottery luck

Sure starting to look as if HuGo will be dealing that mid-late teens pick as part of a package for PLD
Who is available that fits the Habs rebuild timeline

Need to find that 21-23 year old that needs a change of scenery , just like the Caps got Sandin

Provorov or other expensive flops are a waste
