Price will always be one of the great hockey what-ifs of my life, at no fault of his own.

For the 15 years he was active in the NHL, he single-handedly prevented an otherwise terribly run organization from not just being bad, with the odd exception in some seasons here & there... He prevented them from being the Northern Florida Panthers.

While it wasn't always rosey and sunshine, he had a lot of downs too, he played so good, for so long, in front of so many nothing teams. He only played on one team that had a PPG or greater player in his career, Kovalev in Price's rookie year.

He was the team. He was the reason this team went anywhere. When those empty suit hockey "pundits" kept saying, X Team will only go as far as Y Player takes them!, it was complete fucking bullshit if they were talking about anyone other than Carey Price and more recently, Conor McDavid. He was the definition of a player taking his team and putting them on their back.

If the numerous knee injuries had never happened, and this organization was decently ran, he'd have at least one Cup to his name. Especially with a core of Subban/Pacioretty/Markov/Pleks.

But unfortunately...

Well the Leafs couldn't close out the Habs when they were up 3-1 so I'm not about to count out Tampa.

O'Reilly seems to have made a huge difference for the Leafs imo. Also really impressed with Knies, not daunted by big stage

Knies looks fresh. He looks like someone who's played a season full of 2 games / week.

Not sure how good he is yet. He's not bad, though.
