See I get the hard feelings. You guys grew up hearing bullshit after bullshit from a fanbase that won nothing in your lifetime or at least toddler. Leaf fans had to hear it over and over from Habs fans.
So what do people do? They figure everyone is the same. They're not. It's like a favorite color people, no wrong answer. It's loyalty to your town.
My point is stop being a dick to Leaf fans and maybe you'll meet some that think as you do.

While the Laffs fans I know are generally not that annoying (except for that guy who complained about me taking a "slapshot" with a 3-inch windup in pickup ball-hockey a few years ago), I guess I don't really have any rational reason to hate the Laffs. But of course, being a sports fan is irrational. My main practical concern is if they win the Cup, or come close, I won't be able to call them the Laffs anymore, which is good enough for me.
I don't think I've ever actually connected on a slapshot attempt (since the days of pretending to be Mats Naslund or Stephane Richer in the driveway), so no, but I can always try again next time I play against that Laff fan.
I guess the Habs-Laffs rivalry runs deep into Friday evening pickup ball hockey, even on a pathetically tiny scale.

The Oilers look bored. No speed, arriving late to every loose puck, every pass gets deflected. They're half assing it like they're the Leafs the way they're going to play in Game 4. This arena is a mausoleum right now.
