I'm stuck in reality. You can qualify them all you want. A loss is a loss is a loss. The point for an overtime loss is the NHL equivalent of the participation ribbon.

Claiming reality while denying reality at the same time. Classic.
OT and shootouts are not real hockey, it's a side show just because apparently ties were not cool. So teams get a point for a tie, then battle for an extra points in a skills competition. Those are essentially 2 separate games and it essentially a flip coin. Case in point we're 9-9 in OT games.
If you want to be real, look at regulation wins vs losses. We're 25-30 in those.

We haven't had one player of the caliber of any of those 4 during the same span.
Plus their entire fanbase is completely entitled at the idea of having a megastar on the team. I fucking hate them so much.

If they want to give out a point then just keep the tie. But if you're going to keep playing until there's a winner, whether in 3-on-3 OT or a shootout, then the losing team has to get nothing. Giving the losing team a point is rewarding failure. Either call it after 60 minutes and give each team a point or make it an all-or-nothing proposition.
