I mean, every NHLer "gets their bag" if you're just referring to making a lot of money. They all make millions. "Getting their bag" should be used for the Leo Carlssons and Karil Kaprizovs. Those guys cashed in for the most they could have realistically expected and then some. Or even Zegras who got every bit of market value. Guys that got a lot of money while leaving a bunch on the table though? "Got their bag" is just a ridiculous description.

Not really, Price, Pacioretty & Gallagher post ELC contracts were also hometown discounts - they got their bag w final contracts

Subban was the only one who refused to play ball

Not really. Pax is the only who didn’t max out and as a result fired his agent shortly thereafter

MBs first order of business in 2012 was to sign Price, Pacioretty & Subban. Price signed a 6yr deal @ $6.5M

Price & Pacioretty deals were hometown discounts at the time similar to Hutson & Demigod

Just as Stevie Y signed Kucherov to $5M AAV - when GMs hold lever w players years away from UFA they use it, and when player is close to UFA they then hold lever and use it like Price & Gallagher’s UFA contracts

It’s not remotely the same, dude… when Price signed his 6.5M deal he instantly became the 3rd highest paid goalie in the league. The highest paid goalie was making 7M
