Been meaning to get to Dolby Chadwick gallery over in SF to check out her stable and exhibits. Now got a mission: Emilio Villalba. Dude works impasto, heavily, with knives. I work way more lightly with knives and brayers. Gonna be great taking notes from this guy's work in a couple of weeks. Check him out below!

Katharina Grosse’s bLINK (2025) has been permanently installed on the bridge of the Västlänken (West Link), a major railway infrastructure project in Gothenburg, Sweden. Linking time, movement, and space, this site-specific commission includes a giant spotlight that appears to illuminate the surrounding area in a cone of pink light. The shape of the sculpture refers to Skansen Lejonet, the city’s defensive rampart, which for several centuries has looked out over a landscape in transformation. Grosse was invited to submit a proposal for the commission and her project was selected by West Link’s art program, Chronotopia, developed by the Public Art Agency Sweden and the Swedish Transportation Authority.
