As much as I love dogs, I have to agree.

My own personal experience is that my parents' neighbours up in Muskoka have a Pomeranian we've nicknamed "Little Hitler". The only thing rattling around in his tiny little peanut-sized brain is pure unadulterated hate, outsized aggression and a thirst to conquer neighbouring territory.

To that end, he often comes onto our property to yap and growl at us non-stop until one of the neighbours eventually comes over, scoops him up and carries him away. I've definitely fantasized about punting that little fucker into the lake like a football.

Poms have big personality and can be yappy if its not curbed. I wasn't putting up with that shit for 15 years, so trained mine properly.

A bit of a mouth on her, but listens to her command to stfu pretty well, and a super happy disposition overall.

They're terrible if they're not trained and managed right though, no argument there.

Yeah, what it usually comes down to with most yappy and/or aggressive little dogs is that the owner didn’t bother to treat it like a real dog instead of a toy and train it properly.

Whether because of laziness, because they think the behaviour is cute or because they figure their dog is too small to actually hurt anything.

My buddy has a Pom.... she's the sweetest little thing. Don't think I've ever heard her bark.

Yeah if you put in that effort to positively reinforce all their good behaviour when they’re pups, even the training becomes a cake walk.
