Northgate mall is pining for the fjords. It was all but dead and the virus killed it off

Those Korean games should be called insomniac theater. :)

Northgate was deep into their death spiral well before this shutdown. The new-ish owner has been working to get re-development plans approved for more than a year, so ceasing operations and filing for bankruptcy now is just a way to let everybody off the hook. The movie theater was the only viable business concern remaining anyway ... and I'm sure they'll be open and back in business soon enough.

Part of the mall was turned into offices so I guess those places will have to move. Duke has people there and also a place called Measurement Inc.

Those offices will remain active, so far as I can tell. The announcement was specific to retail operations, and those office would remain under every re-development plan that the owners have submitted thus far. The last one I saw kept that stuff and the movie theater and converted everything else into a combination of retail, commercial offices and multi-family residential sort of like a smaller scale North Hills. The neighbors have objected due to concerns about gentrification. Last I heard it was sitting in the City planning department waiting for those idiots to decide how to proceed.
