Everything Carey Price

Price is a big-game player, always has been.

There might be some Canadian bias to him, but all you to do is look at all the praise he receives from his contemporaries.

The only fault you can point to Price is, he had too many seasons that were up & down. How much of that can be attributed to his body deteriorating, we'll never know.

But he's a lock for the HHOF.
Yes but in his "down" years he posted

.905 in 52 games in 08-09

.905 in 39 games in 12-13

.900 in 49 games in 17-18

.901 in 25 games in 20-21 (we know he was already on no knees by here)

.909 in 8 games in 19-20 (and that is not terrible)

So in 1 seasons he was above .915 eight times and below .910 five times. In 09-10 he posted a .912.

14 years, crazy injuries and was never below .900.

The Habs let him down, he should have a cup.

HOF yes , but I dont rank him as one of the all time greats like the media or fan base want

his career was cut in half; part to being great is longevity
Exactly , plus up to his 2014 MVP year he was fucken dominant

Since then its a tale of injuries and inconsistency

Yes the Habs had some weak teams but he didnt carry them like the first half of his career

You know what Price has made me appreciate? It's something Krustchev mentionned here: He's probably the most "technical" goalie ever.

I don't know the first thing about goaltending, but having watched hundreds of Carey Price games, I know what a goaltender with great technique looks like now and it's so glaringly obvious when you watch middling goalies. They float around their crease, they slide too far, the angles at the net are available to the shooters, they can't handle the puck great.

Price is, at the very worst, the fourth greatest goalie in this franchise's history.

The 2012-2013 season is one of his weirdest seasons ever.

It was the lockout shortened season and while his stats weren't eye-popping, he had a pretty good year with a 915 save %... until one night in Toronto when he gave up something like 2 terrible goals on 4 shots before getting pulled.

Goals #2 and #3.

After that night, his season went downhill and he wasn't quite right. I always get the feeling he got injured along the way, but we'll never know.

Price has the most wins in franchise history and the only Habs great with a higher career sv% is Dryden at .920. Price is at .917. His number should absolutely be retired.

At his best, Price played the position like a well programmed AI version of a netminder. Always felt re-assured by his presence, especially in the post season.
