For Borje - The Toronto Maple Leafs 2023 Stanley Cup Champions Thread

yeah all the opinions above are subject to change completely after game 3, and if they do, it will be like they never existed.

ok, presto. will do.

but I thought winning sharpens minds
Current evidence is showing that winning results in people flexing their past opinions and attacking others who were wrong about things. It has gotten violent.

losing does the same, just in the opposite direction though.

we'll all be cursing Dubie and Keefer the minute Schenn gets out of position going for a big hit leading to the game-winning goal against.

To be serial for a moment....our best (within the remote possibility of Sheldon actually doing it) lineup when Bunting is back

Jarnkrok-Matthews-Marner
Bunting-Tavares-Nylander
Knies-ROR-Acciari
Kerfoot-Kampf-ZAR/Lafferty

McCabe-TJ
Rielly-Schenn
Gio-Lilly

Could definitely see him sit Holl. More likely to name Schenn captain than sit him at this point imo.

Keefe will not make any changes to a winning formula, especially when that formula includes Schenn, ZAR, and Laff, so get a grip, man.

By the way, I think only Keefe is more surprised than I am that our best goal scorer has been stifled so badly so far.

I mean, ZAR with only 1 goal in two games??

not gonna lie I'm tempted to just sit kerf. we'll see how the 4th line is doing at the time but i'm not convinced kerf would upgrade the line defensively and offensively, well, he just ain't doing it.

as for Holl coming out, well.....

PK TOI/gm:

1. Holl 4:44
2. Brodie 4:33

3. Gio 2:10
4. McCabe 1:43

5. Schenn 1:07
6. Rielly 0:10

You know my feelings on Kerf. If I had a cannon big enough, he would have been shot out of it and into the sun 2 years ago.

and I know Holl is getting PK work, but the results need to show up eventually, no? He's been on for 4 PP goals against, and has pretty bad PK nerdies in this small ass sample.

Just saw a vid of the Leafs dressing room after the game, and Keefe audibly says: "Schenner, hell of a job. Hollsy, hell of a job."

Let's get comfy with those guys because they're not going to be sitting anytime soon.

Poor fucking Lilly.

I mean his results have been there all year. The #1 guy on one of the best PKs in the league all year. And it's not the first year.

He ranked 12th in PK minutes in the league, with the 2nd lowest ga/60 in at least the top 25 and 2nd lowest xga/60 in at least the top 40.
