LOVE this cartoon! Sent it to a bud of mine, sans lower line, and told him to GTF off my skirts. There'd been some proselytizing attempts on his part about football, so I sent him the 'toon. He don't do that crap no more.

As I posted elsewhere, Marner played better last night than he normally plays in big games but it's a low bar. And the fact that Matthews left McDavid so wide open made Marner's pass pretty easy and routine. McDavid was so open he could have made himself a sandwich while he was waiting for Marner to shovel the puck over to him.

So Marner doesn't get any credit for scoring a big winning goal and setting up the tourney winner on a big play, he's still a loser who you can't win with.
therefore, by your logic, had Matthews scored instead you'd be on here shitting on Marner again. Matthews meanwhile would receive whatever kind of backhanded shit that is up there.

Need to have a passing understanding of like, U13 level tactics. That's all. But it looks bad to someone who breathes through their mouth that the centre was wide open and the guy who left him alone was the other centre.

I suppose if you have Connor McDavid as your center and we're only playing a one game, winner take all format instead of a best of 7, and Marner scores his OT winner in a 3 on 3 format that doesn't exist in the NHL playoffs then maybe you could win with him.
Unfortunately for you and for Marner, none of those conditions are present and won't be for the foreseeable future.
