I have no doubt in my mind that Tkachuk is a maga chud but in this landscape, especially being in the epicenter of MAGA land, it wouldn't be a wise choice make a political statement at this time and refusing to go.

I'm sure there are a few on the team who had to grin and bear it.

Keep in mind that during Trump’s first term, when every other major league boycotted invitations to celebrate their championships at Trump’s White House, Sid happily brought the Cup there twice and never had a single bad word to say about Trump.
 
Hockey players are too vanilla to cause a fuss.

With more culturally diverse lineup , we might see some interesting choices from other major leagues.

The last Eagles event was cancelled due to low attendance numbers and I suspect the NBA will follow suit
 
Trump being a dick and Canadian fans reacting to it by hating on the US is what made this tournament worth my time, or at least the games involving the US and Canada.

If you believed in God, you would know just how important The Donald is to the soon to happen world events. He is a necessity. I, for on, am truly, truly thankful for him. Now if Canada could get rid of the adolescent imbecile currently "running" this frozen land and replace him with Poilievre, that too would be good for all in the long term.

He could be, but:

  • would have to be from the House of David (not sure if he is)
  • needs to bring world piece (remains to be seen)
  • has children (yes)
  • not a miracle maker (yes)
Bottom line, was that bullet missing a coincidence or part of Gods plan? I personally do not believe he is the coming Messiah, but definitely a paving stone on that road. And at this late juncture...a pivotal one.
