Game #56 - Leafs @ Jackets - Hang These Jackets, Please

2005, we're all fully aware that these guys are going to be underdogs in the first round against a very tough opponent. We're aware that they will break our hearts again. This is discussed constantly. But we're still enjoying a season of very fun hockey. I suggest you try that too!
 
Leafs lead 5-3 in goals, 31-28 in shots, on the road. #1 line has dominated the entire game. I'm not sure exactly what the argument here is, exactly.
 
I mean, Marner and matthews need to show up in the post season, but if I have those two Im sure a fuck betting on them to get it done.

by the way… intangible tkachuk has 5 points in 15 playoff gp…

Great advice. But that’s like asking somebody to enjoy a movie where the ending has already been ruined for them. Easier said than done!
 
Would be nice if they figured out the goaltending. Imo it’s the biggest issue we have. A goalie with some big dangling balls for the playoffs. Is that MAF?
 
Imagine not liking this team. Even if they frustrate the fuck out of you and fill you with doubt, you aren't human if you don't love them.

Not to mention that if we're trading a core player, Tavares is the obvious guy to trade. Then fine, go get a 2nd line centre and use the money saved on a middle 6 winger with anger issues. Even as someone who has been on the "Trade Marner" wagon before, you only ever consider that if someone is blowing their brains out for him. JT though...different story entirely.

We know MAF isn't going to struggle with "the moment" or any of that shit. Whether he has that quality left in him for one more run, dunno. I just know it isn't Pete. Happy Jack has shown that level, but I don't know if there's enough zoloft in the universe to get him through 4 rounds.
 
All this talk about Fleury and I'm not sure if it's ever brought up that his "quality start %" stats in the playoffs are sorta awful. .494 compared to .607 for Mrazek and .714 for Jack.

Agreed. Marner was never an exclusive target for me to move. Auston is the only untouchable top guy, IMO.
 
Big guys gotta show up when it matters. Definitely. And Leaf fans are going to be skeptical until they do - totally fair.

But it looks like we're going to move to 27-1-2 when leading after 2 periods so it kinda feels like it's more trauma talking.

Because he tends to either suck dick, or murder with little in between.

MAF is more about solidfying our shit down the stretch, and having a 2nd guy who might go on a heater. We've seen Jack heaters good enough to win a cup in front of, and MAF does heaters like few in NHL history. I just want 2 coin flips instead of 1.
