Engvall was absolutely a beast of a 3rd liner for us. no question. positive impact in extreme tough usage, and good 3rd line (arguably borderline 2nd line) offense too. But last year he got his first real chance to be more than a 3rd liner and while his impacts were still solid (in much more offensive usage tho), his offense completely dried up and despite being in a scoring role had by far the worst production of his career - bad 4th line caliber offense. That also happened to be the year he got his big long contract, and now he's getting waived a year later. Could just be a guy who took his money and ran.

Size speed shot.....but apparently no actual hands or hockey sense. outside of a short hot streak in year 3 never produced at more than a 4th line level, and wasn't a guy to be trusted defensively either. That 3rd year was promising though. I think he even was solid in the series against the Bruins that year. I forget - did he have major injuries or something?

Not actually awesome considering his linemates and offensive usage, but still very solid for a 21yr old. Already producing at a (low end) 1st line level, but has to work on his all around game.
though I guess we should probably look at playoffs too....

Frattin was unplayable in the playoffs despite a bit of offense.
Engvall has been 4th line calibre in the playoffs.
Knies has been.....legit elite 1st line calibre in the playoffs already.
